The Big Bass Story
I Caught this bass while fishing Davis Lake, Oregon. I was fishing for rainbows with a size 8 black wooly bugger. My method was to use a simple two person raft and let my line hang out the back while trolling up and down 50-75 feet off the bank. I had caught several trout before this bass and when I hooked the bass I thought that I had just snagged the bottom. I was only using light line so I slowly pulled on my pole to get it unsnagged. Slowly the snag pulled back and moved horizontally through the water. I knew I had something big on. I hollered out to my brother-in-law and my buddy to get some help. I usually don't ever ask for help so they knew I had to have a big one on. After slowly tiring the largemouth it tangled itself in the lake weeds about six feet down. We had to use a raft ore to get it loose and then net it very carefully. This is the biggest bass I have ever caught and it weighed in at 6 pounds.
